Hannah Jesney
PhD Researcher
University of Strathclyde
Hannah is working on the development of a multi-modal sensor to monitor the performance of pharmaceuticals, this will not only be used to assess ‘problem’ formulations but also to further the understanding of disintegration and dissolution. Hannah will be integrating multiple analytical techniques to form a singular instrument capable of resolving the fundamental processes underpinning disintegration and dissolution, as well as how these processes link to microstructure, formulation and raw material attributes.
Hannah joined CMAC in 2020, after completing an integrated Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Huddersfield. As part of this degree, she completed a year-long research based placement and during that time she worked on permeation studies, the modification of PDMS and the quantification of compound absorption in silicone membranes. She has also worked on a project involving the extraction of heparin from porcine intestinal mucosa and the subsequent analysis of this process and the resultant products.
