Hakam Alaqabani

Hakam Alaqabani is a PhD researcher at Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS), specializing in the design and development of lipid-based nanomedicines for vaccine delivery and chemotherapy. His research focuses on enhancing vaccine efficacy and stability through advanced nanoparticle formulations, with a particular emphasis on targeted immune cell delivery and sustained drug release mechanisms. Hakam is experienced in the formulation of different forms of nanoparticles, hybrid systems, and drug release studies, utilizing innovative analytical techniques such as TEEM spectroscopy.
Hakam's professional experience includes working in the pharmaceutical industry from 2016 to 2018, followed by an academic role as a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Jordan, from 2018 to 2022. He also served as a pharmacist in charge for the International Medical Corps (IMC)-UNHCR between 2020 and 2022.
Hakam earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmaceutical Science degrees, as well as an MBA in Management. In 2022, he began his PhD at the University of Strathclyde under the supervision of Prof. Yvonne Perrie.
