Carlota's interests lie in the improvement of the manufacturing of oral solid dosages. After working on the MMIC GRAND challenge 1 helping in the development a novel digitally twinned continuous direct compression (CDC) platform, she transitioned to her current role where she will lead the integration of the powder processing and formulation services within the National Facility.
Carlota first joined CMAC in 2014 as part of the third cohort of PhD students in the Doctoral Training Centre. After completing her PhD in twin screw granulation, she returned to CMAC in the role of research associate in a tier 1 core project . Carlota has a background in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela and a Masters in sustainability in Chemical Engineering from University of Newcastle.
